She May Bend, She May Break is a collection of thirty knot sculptures that tests the limits of clay. Each piece is contemplatively woven around itself, the only criteria for completion being that at least one knot is formed. While challenging the plasticity of clay, the series also serves as a metaphor for the year 2020, with the entanglement of the knots likening to the collective reckoning, collective mourning and collective transformation that we all navigated 2020-2022.
